Learn about visionary Frederick Law Olmsted’s heralded landscape architecture firm in Maryland, starting with his design for Mount Vernon Place’s north and south parks. Over 75 years, FLO followed by his two sons, John and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. shaped a significant range of Maryland landscapes, envisioning the comprehensive Baltimore park system based on the Gwynns Falls, Herring Run and Jones Falls stream valleys, transforming former estates into iconic Baltimore parks such as Carroll, Clifton, Druid Hill, Gwynns Falls/Leakin, Patterson and Wyman Parks, creating parkway and boulevard plans to connect transportation modes, introducing community recreation and playground spaces. Truly, Baltimore and Maryland wouldn’t be what they are today without the Olmsted legacy.

Join us to check out the exhibit and enjoy anniversary cake and other fun activities.
